As Episcopalians, we are followers of Jesus Christ, our Lord, and we believe in the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
We celebrate our unity in Christ while honoring our differences, always putting the work of love before uniformity of opinion.
We gather as a community on Sundays, and we celebrate the Holy Eucharist, also known as the Lord’s Supper or Holy Communion. We sing off key with gusto, and follow a liturgy, meaning that meaning that we follow service forms and prays from texts that don’t change greatly from week to week during a seasons of the church calendar year. This sameness from week to week gives worship a rhythm that becomes comforting and familiar to the worshipers.
For the first-time visitor, liturgy may be exhilarating or confusing. Services may involve standing, sitting, kneeling, sung or spoken responses, and other participatory elements that may provide a challenge for the first-time visitor. However, liturgical worship can be compared with a dance: once you learn the steps, you come to appreciate the rhythm, and it becomes satisfying to dance, again and again, as the music changes.
Come as you are.
When you visit us, you will notice a wide range of apparel choices. It is more about what is in our hearts that matter more.
People will make you feel like part of Christ's family when you come.
People may help you with selecting the right book from which to sing the songs.
The best part is that you will be given a bulletin with the whole layout of how we worship. You will know when to join with others in a community prayer, and when to sit or kneel or stand.
We believe that reading scripture with others is the best way to learn what God is sharing with us, and how we are called to follow Jesus Christ. We have opportunities for all ages to participate in forming your faith in the Triune God.
